A story of two best friends.
It is 1941. The United States has joined the war and draft letters have been sent out to prepare for the fight to come. But Oliver is not prepared to leave his mother with the burden of supporting the family. With two younger siblings and a father who suffers from PTSD, Oliver seeks out his best friend, Josiah. Josiah’s family has a history of military heroes. They expect him to join the fight, but Josiah is unsure. A late-night adventure to their childhood treehouse is a welcome distraction. Over drinks, Josiah and Oliver realize that they will have to leave their friends and families behind, but at least they will be fighting together. Unfortunately, Josiah and Oliver get separated on deployment in France.
